Meet the Founder

I’m Marianna Girgenti—an architect by profession and a storyteller at heart.

I studied at one of the top architecture schools in the country, and for a while, I thought I’d follow that path completely. But everything changed the day I posted a video online imitating different Spanish accents, and to my surprise, it went viral—reaching over 13 million views on TikTok. That small act opened a door I didn’t know existed—to a creative life I had always dreamed of.

Since then, I’ve worked on the radio, been interviewed on national television, collaborated with brands I admire, and built a community of over one million people who connect with my work and my voice.

Vanti is part of that story. The name comes from avanti—Italian for “moving forward”—because that’s what it’s always been about. It’s a reminder that even the smallest ideas can lead to something bigger when we dare to follow them.

Our Story

Vanti started with an accident—literally.

One day, while working on the interior design of a project, I was adjusting a staircase when I accidentally moved a wall, creating an unexpected angle. Instead of fixing it, I set the mistake aside and started playing with the staircase design—modifying it, duplicating it—until I suddenly saw something new: these would make beautiful earrings.

I sent the design to a 3D printing company I knew from architecture school, and had them 3D print, mold, cast, and coat them in gold. When they arrived and I finally put them on, I couldn’t believe I had brought my idea to life. They were beautiful.

A few months later, I noticed they had started to tarnish, which led me to research materials that were truly long-lasting—resistant to water, hypoallergenic, and able to withstand everyday wear without losing their shine. That search led me to a higher-quality solution: 18K gold-plated stainless steel. I decided to manufacture a second pair using that material. That was in 2022, and I still wear that exact pair to this day.

At first, they were just a design I loved. But over time, I realized they represented something much bigger. The staircase was a reflection of my journey. Like many people, I had spent so much time chasing the next milestone that I rarely stopped to acknowledge how far I had come.

But these earrings became a quiet reminder that progress isn’t just about what’s ahead—it’s about every step taken to get here. When I looked in the mirror, I saw more than just a pair of earrings; I saw proof of my growth, of the risks I had taken, of the dreams I had turned into reality.

Those earrings became the Scala Earrings—named after the Italian word for staircase, representing growth, perseverance, and the journey itself.

Soon, people started noticing. Fellow designers, Instagram followers, even strangers would ask about my earrings. That’s when I realized—this wasn’t just a personal project anymore. It was a symbol others could connect with, a way to remind people of their own progress.

That’s how Vanti was born—to celebrate every step forward.
